Dutch Lake is located off Highway 5 ( the Yellowhead Hwy ) in scenic Clearwater, BC, the tranquil beauty of Dutch Lake Resort. Dutch Lake was originally named "Deutch" Lake for the two German bachelor homesteaders who resided on opposite sides of the lake. Over time, "Deutch" Lake was later changed to Dutch Lake. The lake may have been named for the 9 varieties of Dutch water lilies around the shores of the lake which were transplanted from Holland in 1946. The lake is also famous for its Painted Turtles.
