The transparent muscle down the centre of the abdomen is the rectus abdominis. The transparent muscle to its left is the transverse abdominis. Attached to the lumbar (lower) spine are the psoas major muscle and the narrow psoas minor muscle. Frontal thigh muscles include the sartorius and quadriceps. Muscles in the lower leg are the gastrocnemius and the soleus (in the calf, collectively known as the triceps surae) and the tibialis anterior (in the shin).
