Of the buckles illustrated, figs. 61 and 62 areGothic pieces from Kiev and Odessa respectively,the birds head on fig. 62 being especially 63 is the large iron buckle at Pribourg noticedin the text, and fig. 64 shows bronze buckles atBoulogne of Prankish provenance. The completespecimen was found in a womans grave. The finegolden buckle set with garnets at Stuttgart () is so like the still finer piece from Apahida in 148 PLATE XVI.
