Am'd Mass., is sending in a superior lot of roses and carnations this season. Their leading carnations are Ward, Matchless, rink Delight, Enchantress Supreme, Ikacon, Bcnora and Alice Coombs. They have a nice pick of Spencer sweet peas. James "Wheeler now lias 16,000 feet of glass devoted to yellow marguerites and is the leading local specialist in these popular flowers. His best grade realizes as much as $G per hundred. Among carnations Nancy is now doing better. Pink Delight, Alice, Benora and Matchless are the other leaders. Alice yielded eight flowers per plant up to January 1, ahead of all other varieties. At the club meeting January 20, C. F. Guenther, of Hamburg, N. Y., showed a nice vase of his new chrysanthemum. A seedling crimson carnation from W. D. Howard, originated by A. B. Knowlton, showed up well; also a pink seedling from Littlefield & Wynian. At the meeting February 20 carnations will hold the center of the stage. There will be a notable display of flowers and talks by several specialists.
