VAPPU, VALBORG, WALPURGIS NIGHT, ÅLAND: On 30 April Ålanders in the Baltic Sea archipelago celebrate a traditional seasonal festival called Valborg in Swedish (also known as Vappu in Finnish and Walpurgis Night in English) at Uffe på Berget, Åland, Baltic Sea, Finland. People wear their graduation hats, sing old songs and build bonfires across Finland and all the Nordic and Scandinavian countries to say goodbye to Winter and welcome in Spring.
