A Persian khanjar, 19th century. Double-edged blade of wootz Damascus with reinforced edges, both sides with central ridge and at the base of the blade a brass-framed cartouche with a cut image of a lion slaying an antelope. Modern grip of black stone in the shape of an hour glass. Velvet-covered wooden scabbard of later date.
