Therefore, an Agricultural Society can obtain their full program grants plus the Farm Safety Promotion Grants. EXHIBITORS FEE vs AG. SOCIETY MEMBERSHIP FEE It has been brought to our attention that numerous Agricultural Societies require exhibitors to purchase a membership fee in the local Agricultural Society if they wish to exhibit in that fair. Under the regulations of the Agricultural Societies Act, it is illegal for a person to be a member in more than one Agricultural Society. This is not to say that a person cannot work in two Agricultural Societies but he/ she should not be a voting member in more than one Agricultural Society. So why force an exhibitor to join more than one Agricultural Society and put that person in a very difficult position? If you have costs that you are trying to reduce by collecting a membership fee, reduce these costs by charging an exhibitor's fee. This procedure helps to eliminate an uncomfortable feeling exhibitors may have, especially for those exhibitors who do not want to become a member of an Agricultural Society but only wish to exhibit their products.
