A splendid model 1854 presentation sword of the Adhémar de Monteil family, 2nd half of the 19th century. A double-edged blade with offset fullers and the motto "Plus d'honneurs que d'honneurs" between fine leafy vines etched on the obverse side. The maker's inscription, "Coulaux Klingenthal" and the mark "G" beneath a star are etched above the base of the blade. Blued steel hilt with an ivory grip and brass wire winding.
