T COKELY Everything in Fivrists' Supplies. 20I North Seventh Avenue, Established 22 Years SCRANTON, PA. qualitj and sell quite cheaply. In addi- tion to Golden Glow, some good Smith's Advance and Early Frost chrysanthe- mums are seen. A week's rainfall, much of it torren- tial, destroyed the bulk of the open air asters, and a small proportion only of these are salable, but good greenhouse- grown flowers are selling well. Gla- dioli are still quite plentiful, with little change in price. There are some nice dahlias and a good supply of cosmos, gomphrena and other annuals, the bulk of indifferent quality. Lilies are scarce; so is lily of the val- lej. There are small lots of gardenias and bouvardia arriving. While cat- tleyas^re still in short supply, the price has declined. Asparagus and adiantum are moving sluggishly. WIRED TOOTHPICKS Mmmnimekund by W. J. COWEE. "n?*'" 10,000, $ 50,000, $ Saflipte Free Far Sal* by Dcalcn Dahlia Exhibition. Although there were only half a dozen classes allotted to dahlias at the show in Horticultural hall September 13 and 14, the displays made of dahlias and gladioli completely filled the main ex- hibition hall and, considering that we had had five days of sunless weather and almost constant rain, the quality was surprisingly good.
