The bulbs are grown by methods of culture known only to themselves, whereby they attain great size and vitality, thus insuring luxur- iant growth and a remark- able profusion of bloom. They produce a growth ot foliage in an incredibly short time, and blossom in from six to eight weeks from time of planting, each bulb send- ing up from five to twelve spikes which bear clusters of large perfect waxy white blossoms with a yellow cen- ter and a powerful and de- licious fragrance. Culture: They grow well in pots of earth, but are more novel and beautiful grown in bowls or vases of water. If grown in earth, place the bulb in a pot of light rich soil and treat in the ordin- , applying plenty of water. If grrown in water, put an inch or two of gravel in the bottom of the dish in which the plant is to be grown, set the bulb on this and put enough gravel around it to keep from falling over : fill the dish with water and place in a light sunny place in any ordinary li\-ing room. A dozen bulbs started this way at intervals will give a succession : :: : ;: :ut the winter. A beautiful effect is produced by putting three or four bulbs in larg^e ii^h.
