A helmet for officers of the Saxon Mounted Guards Regiment, model 1822, style worn until 1832 High leather skull, gilded ornamented crest, front side decorated with a trophy bundle. Two protective bands on each side. Emblem bears the crowned cipher "FAR". Black leather sweatband, green silk lining. The helmet skull and crest are somewhat crushed. Metal chinskales and cockades are missing. The edging on the front brim has marks of wear.
