Efforts are being made to make the membership reach 200 before June 28, 1920, when the club will celebrate its thirty-fourth anni- versary. The treasurer's report showed a healthy balance in the club treasury. President Ammann, of the S. A. F., gave a long and interesting talk on national and local publicity. The talk was not only interesting, but of educa- tional value to those who were not well acquainted with the publicity question; it must surely have converted those present who were not contributors to the publicity fund. This closed the best attended and most interesting meeting of the year. After the meeting Mr. Goebel invited the members to a fine lunch with re- freshments. In this Mr. Goebel was assisted by Mrs. Goebel and several other ladies. As the last outdoor meet- ing of the season, it will certainly be long remembered by those who at- tended. The host and hostess were given a hearty rising vote of thanks for their afternoon's entertainment. Gardeners Meet. The St. Louis Association of Garden- ers held its monthly meeting at the municipal greenhouses on Oakland ave- nue October 8 at 8 o'clock. There was a large attendance when President Jansen called the meeting to order. After all committees had re- ported, President Jansen announced that at this meeting George Pring and he would talk on the aims and objects of the National Association of Garden- ers.
