Therecan hardly be any doubt that these discs were used with the distaff, inspinning as well as in weaving, as weights for the thread.^ Similar discs, with the same characteristics, proving that they werecut out of broken pottery, have been also found at Szihalom ; two of them,exhibited in the National Hungarian Museum, are represented on Plate ix,,Nos. 2 and 4 of the photographs of the collections. Another such disc,found at Magyarad, in the county of Hont, is represented under No. 37 onPlate xiii. in Joseph Hampels Antiquites prehistoriques de la Hongrie.
