The landscape entering the Tawang Valley in northern Arunachal Pradesh, India.

An old stone door at Tawang Monastery, a Buddhist temple in the former Tibetan Kingdom of Tawang, now a part of the Indian state of Arunachal Pradesh. Tawang was signed over to British- run India by way of the Simla Accord in 1914, a fact fiercely disputed by China who do not recognise the Simla Accord and maintain that Tawang is theirs. The 6th Dalai Lama was born in Tawang; the current 14th Dalai Lama fled here when escaping the Chinese Army in 1959.
