In many lines of book, writing and local paperstliere has been a general reduction, due in part to Amer-ican competition, and in part to urgent demand for re-duction put forward by the Canadian consumer. Onpapers up to ten cents the price iu effect is now reducedby half a cent a lb. There is a reduction of one cent alb. on papers above ten cents to fifteen cents.
