The Market. Considering the time of year, business is good. There is a good market for everything. Roses of the better grade are moving faster now than at any time since Easter. Carnations are not so plentiful, but those that are being cut are of good quality. Outdoor peas are coming in. A number of weddings and graduations are keeping some busy. Various Notes. The United States National Bank of Denver opened a new bank Saturday, June 18, and gave every depositor a carnation, of which more than 4,000 were used. Louis Kintzele is cutting some fine Delphinium Belladonna. Colorado florists gave a banquet June 22 at the Hotel Metropole. It was a great success, with eighty-five men and women from all over the state present, J. F. Ammann and H. V. Swenson be- ing among the guests. Mr. Swenson gave a talk on what is being done in Chicago by the Allied Florists' As- sociation in the way of advertising. Mr. Ammann also spoke on advertis- ing, and he was instrumental in organiz- ing a cooperative advertising associa- tion. After the talks there was a reso- lution read and adopted, whereby every grower and wholesaler is taxed one-half of one i)er cent on all sales and the re- tailer, one per cent on all purchases. A committee of six was appointed to arrange all the advertising. The com- mittee is composed of three growers and three retailers. There was a fire in the building in which the B
