The Edison plug isone type of enclosed fuse, but there are many other varietiesin which the fuse is sealed in a tube or cartridge filled withmaterial which does not conduct heat readily. The fuse isthus protected from injury and is more likely to melt at itsrated capacity. One type of enclosed fuse block is shown inFig. 44, WIRING FOR A UNIFORM DROP. 74. In the method of wiring illustrated in Fig. 20, itwill be noticed that the lamp on the extreme end of the linein the office is much farther away from the dynamo thanthe first lamp on that line. Owing to the resistance of thewire, the distant lamp will not burn as brilliantly as thenearer one; therefore, it is desirable to have a system of
