Turkey Ottoman countrymen in traditional customes soaking their horses at a public 'Menzil' fountain. These Menzils were located outside settlements and served caravans, travellers, farmers and their beasts. The fountains had inscriptions in verses, with the last line giving information about the construction date, either directly or in Ebced calculation Copy from a dry glass plate, originating from the Herry W.
