Upon its shapely calyx is portrayed with glowingintensity all the magic hues with which the divine artist has invested nature. To be fully appreciated they must be seen inall the wealth of their dazzling splendor while in full bloom, arranged in masses in the garden or on the lawn. The bulbs are entirely hardy, and may be utilized either for house or outdoor culture with entire certainty as to resultsof the most gratifying nature. The same method of culture in detail prescribed for the Hyacinth will suffice for the the blooming period has elapsed, and when the bulbs have sufficiently ripened, as indicated by the yellowish appear-ance of the stem, they may be taken up, cleaned, dried off, placed in paper bags and stored in a cool dry place, and re-planted again in the Fall.
