5TH FLEET AREA OF OPERATIONS (Dec. 12, 2016) A Marine M1A1 Main Battle Tank with Tank Platoon, Battalion Landing Team 1st Bn., 4th Marines, 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit, fires a Multi-Purpose Anti-Tank (MPAT) round during a live-fire night range as part of Exercise Alligator Dagger, Dec. 10. The MPAT round is used to eliminate light or heavy armored threats, and aerial threats. Training such as this strengthens the execution of our mission essential tasks as a crisis response force.
