A species of Hyacinth which blossoms during August andSeptember, growing three to five feet high, with spikes ofpure white flowers two feet in length. The bulbs are large,round and solid, and throw up large flower stems which aregigantic spikes of thimble-shaped white blossoms. Plantedin the spring they bloom in August, September and October,strong bulbs producing two, three and even four flowerstems. A bed of a dozen or more bulbs produces a grandeffect. A few planted in the center of a bed of VerbenasPetunias or other flowers make a beautiful display. Theycontrast elegantly with Gladiolus. Planted anywhere, singlyor in clumps, they are magnificent.
