During the course of the last year, we have lostmany good men and women, tried and true, who haveworked with us in the sweet labors of love and char-ity but who, at the behest of the Master, havepassed away to that unknown shore from whosebourne no traveler returns. While they are gonefrom us, the recollection of their friendly counsel anddisinterested labors in the noble cause we represent,will form one of the bright imperishable jewels thatadorn the history of our People and while biddingGodspeed to these departed who but yesterdaywere the friends of our bosoms and the companionsin all our hopes and aspirations, we are prone to sur-render to the gloom of the Great Shadow. Our soulsare steeped in sorrow and the flood gates of grief areopened wide. But why should we repine oer the re-lease of a soul from the fetters of the flesh.
