Loading One After Another – From the mining site that was once covered by pristine forests and natural habitat to a plethora of fauna and flora fully laden trucks transport the extracted material through remaining forests along the mine constructed dirt roads to the mines own dock in the bay were the material is loaded onto barges for transportation to the awaiting ocean going vessels.

Deforestation and Mining The loss of forest habitats due to human activity can have a dramatic impact on flora, fauna and also humans as many forests are the ancestral homeland of tribal communities who for generations have lived in harmony with the forests. Mining activity brings destruction to jungles and forests. Not only does this impact dramatically on the environment and the habitat to a variety of flora and fauna, but also those tribal community’s whose ancestral homeland it once was. Deforestation such as due to mining activity triggers environmental concerns including soil erosion, which can be a serious problem particularly during heavy rains causing mudslides, which can be destructive to all forms of life. Also the soil can be washed into rivers and streams transporting fast amounts of silt and mud that can clog waterways or find their way to the ocean.
