Indian Navy were on Friday engaged to fish out the body of a 17-year-old girl who jumped into river Jhelum on the evening of March19 in Srinagar. The girl, resident of Dandarkha, Batmaloo, allegedly committed suicide by jumping into river Jhelum from Amira Kadal bridge in the summer capital of Srinagar. However, despite massive search operation by police, fire service department locals and others, the body could not be recovered. The authorities have now sought the help of Indian Navy divers to fish out the body of the girl. It was not immediately clear why she took this extreme step,This was the second incident in the last fortnight in which a girl committed suicide by jumping off the Amira Kadal bridge.
