On 5, 6 and 7 August, the entire city was dominated by the Maria Congress. The Wedren was set up as a congresser. After a pontifical praise Celebrated by Mgr. Diepen, bishop of 's-Hertogenbosch, he crowns, after papal permission, the statue of Mary that has been in a side aisle of the Molenstaatskerk since 1936. According to tradition, the statue would have been saved in 1592 from the stake on the Grote Markt and therefore also called the "Black Madonna"
