Beautiful, historic Villa La Gaeta on Lake Como, Lombardie, Italy
Villa La Gaeta is a historic Art Nouveau residence on Lake Como in Acquaseria in the municipality of San Siro. Villa La Gaeta owes its name to the tip of the promontory on which it was built. Previously, the site was occupied by another residence, decidedly more modest, acquired by Solone Ambrosoli , an Italian numismatist who lived between 1851 and 1906. The design of the building was assigned to Gino Coppedè and his brother Adolfo. It was completed by the Ambrosoli heirs in 1921. In 1940, the villa was bought by the Gerli counts. In 2006, the villa was used as a location for the filming of some scenes of the movie Casino Royale. After the renovation in 2011, the Villa was divided into several apartments for private use.
