Compton Verney, Warwickshire, UK. 24th September 2017. Members of the Sealed Knot re-enactment society converged in their hundreds on a field at Compton Verney to commemorate the 375th anniversary of the first major pitched engagement in October 1642 of the English Civil War. On a field that undulates and flows not unlike the original and within the very same area the conflict originally took place, the re-enactors utilised horses, muskets, drums and pikes to recreate the battle between Royalist and Parliamentarian forces.
