A cased pair of percussion pistols,Sauer & Sohn,Suhl,ca. 1840. Two-stage barrels,octagonal then multi-faceted,slightly swamped,with eight-groove rifled bores in calibre 12 mm and patent breechblocks. Dovetailed front sights and adjustable rear sights. Barrel tops with(darkened)silver inlay " SAUER UND SOHN A SUHL". Colour case hardened back action locks with floral engravings,single set trigger and foldable buffers. Carved walnut stocks with checkered grips and engraved nickel silver furniture.
