Yet, pull them to pieces, they are all many-petaled, polypetalous (Pig. 31). Thus far they resemble the plants of Handful I., and, for aught you see at present, might be grouped with them; but we must look further. Different as the groups of Handful II. may seem from each other, they have one common point of resemblance in which they differ from Handful I., and that is in the mode in which their stamens and petals are attached to the other parts of the flower.
