Steam train makes its way through the heather in bloom and rolling landscape of the North York Moors, Goathland, Yorkshire, UK


The North Yorkshire Moors Railway is was revived in after the steam trains in this region of the UK were taken out of service in 1965. In 1973 the North York Moors Historical Railway Trust Ltd was formed and since then a steam railway service has operated between Pickering and Grosmont, both towns being in the North York Moors, the latter being a Heritage site renowned for its ruggedness and beauty. Today the railway services transports tens of thousands of excited passengers looking for that nostalgic experience. The service is run by volunteers.
