For the greenhouse 20x80, three 3-inch flow pipes and fifteen 2-inch returns will be needed. One flow pipe should be two feet below the ridge and the others on the side wall plates. Arrange the re- turns in three coils of five pipes each, placing one coil under each side bench and the other over the middle bench. For use with soft coal the boiler should be rated for about 2,500 square feet. HEATING THREE HOUSES. I am building three greenhouses. Two of them are 25 x 75 and the other, 12 X 51, as shown in the accompanying sketch. What size of boiler, steam or hot water, will it take to heat the houses? How many and what size of pipes will be required? The houses must be heated to 60 degrees, when it is 10 below zero. How many square feet of radiation will be required for the three houses? H. J. W. E.—Ind. The accompanying sketch shows two houses, 25 x 75, with 4-foot walls and twenty inches of glass in the south wall of the south house. The third house is built across the west end of the other houses and is 12 x 51. The boiler room is at the north end of this house.
