Southern ground hornbill (Bucorvus leadbeateri), with its wattle (red) and long eyelashes clearly seen. This is the largest of the hornbills and is primarily ground-dwelling. It is entirely carnivorous. Its diet includes insects, reptiles and small mammals. This bird is found in woodland and grassland habitats in southern Africa.
