Some five or ten miles north of the rail-road are the Meadow and Negro Mountains,from which choice trout streams wend theirway to make up Deep Creek, emptying intothe Youghiogheny River, and the Castle-man River emptying into the MonongahelaRiver. A few miles west of Oakland the rail-road leaves Maryland and enters West Vir- ginia in Preston Count
