FREEMAN This Grinder is especially adapted for use in con- nection with our power wind mills, and with our line of horse powers, but it can be driven by belt from any kind of power. The burrs used in this Grinder are of a peculiar form which cuts the grain instead of crushing it, conse- quently they do better work than the ordinary style of burr, and can be adjusted to do much finer work. The design of the burrs is such that they are not injured by run- ning idle, in fact, running them idle will sharpen rather than dull them, the only harm that can re- sult being more wear than would occur if grain was between the burrs. These machines have an adjusta- ble shake-feed,which is directly un- der the hopper, so that the flow of grain may be governed as desired. The quality of the grinding is con- trolled by a hand wheel and a reg- ulating lever. This lever is provi- ded with a safety break pin of suffi- cient strength to hold the burrs so that they will grind the grain, but should nails or other hard substan- ces get between the burrs the pin will break and allow the burrs to separate, thus preventing injury to the burrs. We furnish with this machine two sets of coarse burrs suitable for ordinary grinding, but if so ordered we will furnish one set of coarse burrs for feed and one set of fine burrs for meal.
