1863 Thomas Logan found some gold in Bendigo above the town of Cromwell in Central Otago in New Zealand. Later on the gold miners build up the mining settlements Logantown and Welshtown. The remaining ruins of the goldfields are attracting some tourism today. Als Thomas Logan in Bendigo auf den Hügeln über der Stadt Cromwell in Central Otago in Neuseeland 1863 Gold fand, löste er einen Goldrausch aus. Die Ruinen der damals gegründeten Siedllungen Logantown und Welshtown locken heute ein paar Touristen auf die Berge.
