He acted as principal of theEmery Academy in Castle Dale, wentto the University of Utah in 1917, wasin Europe during the first nine monthsof the World war and was in Paristhe day France declared war on Ger-many. While residing atLogan, Elder Bowen was superintend-ent of the Cache Stake Sunday School. BOWEN, Albert Ernest, general su-perintendent of the Y. M. M. I. A., wasborn Oct. 31, 1875, at HendersonCreek, Oneida Co., Idaho, a son ofDavid Bowen and Annie was baptized Dec. 2, 1883, by Dan-iel E. Price and filled a mission toSwitzerland and Germany from 1902to 1904. Just pievious to leaving forthis mission Bi-o. Bowen had taken aB. A. degree, with honor, at the Brig-ham Young College, and upon his re-turn became a member of the facultyof the Brigham Young College. In1907 he entered the law school of theChicago University, having previouslystudied in that institution. In 1911he was graduated from the law schoolwith the degree of Doctor of Juris-prudence, after which he practicedlaw in Logan, Utah, and served ascounty attorney for Cache County two Board and from 1922 to 1934 was amember of the General Boar
