Internet connection. Twisted pair (TP) cable terminated with a connector plug, and a wall sock- et. These are used to connect personal computers to local area networks (LANs) and the Internet. This is achieved by using a modem (modulator demodulator). This device translates information from a computer into a form which allows it to be passed through existing communications cables, such as those used in a telephone network.
