In the center is a large ablution fountain that was completed in 1362. It was not always an ablution fountain. Originally it was merely decorative, but was altered and repaired, and now actually dates to the Ottoman Period. It is covered by a wooden dome supported on marble columns. Around the base of the dome is a band of inscriptions from the Quran. The dome of this fountain, which is supported on eight marble columns, is bulbous in shape, and may in fact be a replica of the original missing mausoleum dome Taken @Cairo, Egypt
