A rare combined match- and wheellock musket, Styria, dated 1583. Lightly swamped two-stage barrel, octagonal becoming round in 17 mm calibre, retaining some original blacking. The top of the barrel bears the date "1583" and is stamped with the mark for Georg Lampl, Rottenmann near Graz. Lock of the characteristic Styrian shape, with original bluing in places with pivoting safety and a match and wheel lock.
