A giant Mealybug (Pseudoccocus sp) on a stem in the forest on Paneung Theung in Kaeng Krachan National Park in Western Thailand
The giant Forest mealybug (Pseudococcus sp) belongs to a genus of unarmoured scale insects in the family Pseudococcidae, the mealy bugs. There are more than 150 species of Pseudococcus and this one in the Thai forest is probably one of the largest.
