Sravanabelagola is a very sacred site for the Jain sect of Hindus. On Vindhyagiri hill, the Sri Gomatheswar statue is a thousand-year-old monolithic stone statue of the Bhagavan Gomateshwara Bahubali, which worshippers visit as a place of pilgrimage.
