Housesteads Roman Fort, 2nd century, (c1990-2010). Housesteads Roman Fort (Vercovicium), Northumberland. Reconstruction drawing of the granaries in later 2nd century AD. An auxiliary fort on Hadrian's Wall in the civil parish of Bardon Mill in Northumberland, England, built in stone around AD 124 and part of the Roman province of Britannia. Its name has been variously given as Vercovicium, Borcovicus, Borcovicium, and Velurtion.
