The photograph depicts the Susegana Castle in Italy showing the effects of Allied shellfire during World War One. This castle, owned by the brother of Francis Joseph, was heavily damaged. The image was taken on March 1, 1919, by Sgt. A. Mossioni of the Signal Corps.
