Mike Ward, Deputy Commander NATO Training Mission-Afghanistan (NTM-A), from Ottawa, Ontario, second from right, shakes the hand of newly promoted Canadian, Chief Petty Officer 1st Class Trevor Spring, right, from Pleasantville, Nova Scotia. Chief Petty Officer 1st Class is the highest enlisted rank in the Canadian Navy. “This is the culmination of my career,” said Spring. The promotion was held at Camp Eggers, the headquarters for the newly established command, NATO Training Mission-Afghanistan, on Nov. 30, 2009.
