Some of the families of the 154 people who lost their lives - when Spanair Flight JK5022 - an MD-82 jet - crashed on take off on August 20, 2008 as it tried to leave Madrid airport - attend a ceremony near a sculpture dedicated to the vitims in Las Palmas on Gran Canaria on the 7th anniversary of the accident. The Madrid to Gran Canaria flight crashed on take off, 154 people ( many from Gran Canaria) lost their lives, only 18 people survived. It was the world's deadliest aviation accident in 2008.
