Interior of a church in Ainoreville, Meuse, France, that was wrecked by German shell fire during World War I. The photograph, taken on November 4, 1918, shows the aftermath of the battle. It took two days for the 61st Infantry to capture a machine gun nest in the town. The image was approved by the censor.
