Vertical view of a typical Florentine street [Lungarno delgi Archibusieri] with the arches of the Vasari Corridor on a sunny day

Vertical image of a typical Florentine streetscene along Lungarno delgi Archibusieri with the arched elevated walkway of the Vasari Corridor on the lefthand side. The Corridoio Vasariano was built in 1564 by Giorgio Vasari in order to link the Pitti Palace, where the Grand Duke resided, with the Palazzo Vecchio (the Town Hall). It is a 1km covered walkway that starts out from the West Corridor of the Uffizi Gallery, across the river Arno until it finally reaches the Boboli gardens and the apartments of the Pitti Palace.
