London, The Crown Jewels locked in the Tower of London. Top is St Edwards Crown, Middle is The Imperial State Crown, also in the display cabinet are The Orb, and The Imperial Sceptre with the Cullinan Diamond (there are more parts to the Cullinan diamond than one). The St. Edward's Crown is the one used in the Coronation for the moment when the Queen lifts her head to the Archbishop of Canterbury who lowers it onto her head. The Imperial State Crown. (made for Queen Victoria in 1838 and remade for GeorgeVI in 1937). . The Imperial State Crown is worn on the return from the abbey after the coronation and for certain state occasion. Other Crown Jewels are also in the picture. In1671 an attempt was made to steal the Crown Jewels by Colonel Blood was thwarted, they were taken from the Martin Tower to the Wakefield Tower, in 1967 the Crown Jewels were moved to an enormous underground vault in front of the Waterloo Barracks.
