A flintlock shotgun, German, circa 1750. Massive octagonal barrel merging to round with a smooth bore in 16 mm calibre. Silver front sight, dovetailed sights. A mark showing a halberdier with "IWS" next to it has been stamped beside the breech. Flintlock with a cambered lock plate and a lightly engraved cock. Richly carved, figured walnut half stock with rocaille decoration. Finely engraved brass furniture. The open work barrel band bears the monogram "JKB".
