PnoxiNUS FLAMMEUS Jordan & Oilbert. ' Itdan, Man. Vert. E. U. S. ed. 2d, p. 303. Avery distinct species, resembling " G'i/a" margarita (Cope).but with |e short lateral line of P. neogceus Cope. [Body stout, rather more slender and more compressed than in P. Wns, the form being nearly that of G. margarita. Depth 4 in length, wit equal to the length of the head. (Head short and deep, smaller than in neogwvs, the upper outline Med, the muzzle quite blunt and rather short. Eye rather large, ill bead, longer than snout. Mouth small, oblique, the lower jaw [ejecting, the intermaxillary in front on the level of the pupil, and the fJillary extending to opposite the front of the orbit. jbles much larger than in P. neogceus, but still quite small, in appear- Bull.
